Knowledge areas: Law Research focuses on administrative, constitutional and European law as well as sociology of law and constitutional history. A specialisation lies in biomedical, service, infrastructure, planning, environmental and economic administrative law as well as in the law of demographic change.  


Short Vita

Prof. Dr. Jens Kersten, born 1967; 1989-1994 studied law in Heidelberg, Leeds (GB) and Bonn; 1994 first state examination in law in Cologne; 1998 second state examination in law in Berlin; 1999 doctorate and 2004 habilitation at the law faculty of Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin; 2006-2007 professorship for spatial planning and environmental law at Technische Universität Dortmund; 20072008 professorship for public law and commercial law at Universität Bayreuth. Since 2008 Professor of Public Law and Administrative Sciences at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich; 2012-2013 Carson Professor at the Rachel Carson Center for Environment and Society at the LudwigMaximilians-University Munich.
