In his empirically oriented research Holger Bonin investigates fundamental structural changes in labour markets, demographic change and immigration, as well as the effectiveness of active labour market policy and family policy measures. He is strongly active in scientifically based consultancy and, according to the FAZ ranking, is currently one of the ten most influential economists in politics in Germany.
Prof. Dr. Holger Bonin (born 1968) has been research director at the Institute of Labor Economics (IZA) in Bonn since 2016 and teaches economics with a focus on labor market and social policy at the University of Kassel. After completing his doctorate in generational accounting at the University of Freiburg, he worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the IZA before taking over as head of the Labour market department at the Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW) Mannheim in 2007.Zur Webseite des Autors
